Nutrigenomics Consortium:
dietary signals, sensors and
metabolic stress signatures
The Nutrigenomics Consortium (NGC) investigates how particular
food components effect human physiology, using a radical new concept
in nutritional research. Molecular nutrition is combined with
state-of-the-art genomics research, with eventually examining the
potentials of dietary interventions for the prevention of the
metabolic syndrome and systemic insulin resistance.
NGC is one of the four innovative
clusters of the Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI) whose goal is
to make the Netherlands an international leader in genomics and to
build a structure that links high scientific quality to economic and
social returns.
